DepEd CARAGA conducts RMTOT for Senior High School Curriculum

The newly hired teachers of Department Education from all divisions of CARAGA Region gathered together for a Regional Mass Training of Teachers for Senior High School Curriculum on the Academic Track held last May 23-June 9, 2016 at Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU), Basic Education Department, Morelos Campus, Libertad, Butuan City.

The 18-day seminar-workshop of the teacher-participants is part of a thorough preparation  for the full implementation of the Senior High School curriculum starting from Grade 11 all throughout the country.

FSUU's onsite Program Director, Mr Jeffrey Garin in his speech during the orientation program, stressed the great challenge the university had faced in accepting the responsibility of giving holistic and substantial training  to teachers who will be part of the country's history of this great curriculum innovation.

To capacitate the newly hired Grade 11 teachers on the methodologies of teaching in the academic track was the training's first objective. This is to review their knowledge in handling senior high school students, enriching their capabilities to produce highly competitive individuals. The training also strengthened the skills of these teachers based on their area of specialization and prepared teaching guides to improve the learning outcomes of the students.

Along the process, the participants were able to share their learning on that particular day and even express their day-to-day comments and suggestions to the organizers.

In her inspirational message, Dr.May B. Eclar, OIC-Regional Director, reminded the teachers to extend their patience, boost their confidence, and keep their commitments in adhering to the country's most anticipated change in the arena of education.
